Horizons “Alcide”
Horizons “Alcide”
This painting is made up of 9 porcelain and stoneware pellets, all shaped by hand. The design of each is created by mixing four different clays. The light wood floating frame is contemporary and has a thin, sturdy metal cable for easy hanging.
This work is named after Horizon Alcide. Alcide Dessalines d'Orbigny, was a French naturalist, explorer and paleontologist, famous for his travels to South America and his work in paleontology and his studies of biostratigraphy.
